To celebrate a remarkable 60 years of Queen Elizabeth II as Monarch of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and of Her other Realms and Territories we are delighted to confirm the issue a special set of new stamps and a souvenir sheet from South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands.
This year we commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of the Accession of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty became Head of the Commonwealth and Queen in 1952 and was crowned in Westminster Abbey on June 2nd 1953. During her 60 year reign she has become the most widely travelled Head of State in World history. During this time she has witnessed numerous wars and conflicts as well as landmark historical events from the landing of the first man on the moon up to the present day of the digital age.
Queen Elizabeth II is the longest lived and second longest reigning Monarch in British history next to Queen Victoria.
The four stamps depict images of Her Majesty taken during each of her very special Anniversary years.
